The old Oreo update for the S7 and S7 Edge devices with Baseband versions G930FXXU2ERD5 and G935FXXU2ERD5 have been abandoned and new OTA update is rolling out with build ERE8. MOre details include G930FDBT2ERE8/G930FXXU2ERD6. The OTA is currently rolling out in European region with the UK unlocked variants being the first ones. It won’t be too long until other regions receive the same update. As the Oreo update is for the global variants, soon all the models of S7 like SM-G930F/FD and SM-G935F/FD will receive the same.

- Find out the CSC code or Product code for your specific region.

Installing Oreo OTA stock firmware onto Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge
Step 1: Download the listed firmwarefor your for your Galaxy device. Extract the zip file to get the firmware with .tar or .tar.md5 extension and place at a location where you can easily locate it in your PC.
Step 2: Now boot your device into Download/Odin Mode. To do so, turn off your device completely and then press and hold Power button + Volume Down + Home keys for a few seconds. If you see a warning sign press Volume up/ Volume down to get the Odin screen.
Step 3: If you already have Odin software on your PC then simply run the
Odin3.exe
file. If not, then download the Odin3.zip file from the download section and extract it. Run Odin software as administrator.Step 4: While your device is still in the Odin Mode, connect your device to your PC using a USB cable.
Step 5: After a successful connection, the ID: COM in the Odin should turn Blue and an Added!! message should be displayed in the Log tab. In case your device doesn’t show up in Odin, then you can troubleshoot it with the steps given at the end of the tutorial.
Step 6: Now click on AP button and add the firmware file by navigating to the file path.
Step 7: Take care that only Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time are selected in the Options tab. Do not check Re-Partition.
Step 8: Once done, verify everything and proceed with installation by selecting Start button. If it’s a 4 file firmware, then take a look at the following image:
Step 9: When you get a PASS! message in the Log tab on your Odin software, that means firmware has successfully been installed and the device will restart itself. If not then reboot manually.
Be patient as first boot may take a while.

Amid all the S8 Oreo hype, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge users can also get the official Android 8.0 Oreo update on their devices. This will take your S7 device to a new firmware build number G935FXXU1DQK2. The firmware is based on stock Samsung Experience 9.0; formerly known as TouchWiz. Most importantly, it features the latest January 2018 Security Patch.

A few days ago, a leaked build of Oreo for S7 Edge reportedly rolled out to some users in Vietnam. Users then uploaded the system and Kernel dump publicly. A developer called ProtoDeVNan0 then compiled a stock based custom ROM for all the Galaxy S7 Edge SM-G935F Exynos variants. This ROM is based on the official Android 8.0 Oreo Samsung Experience 9.0 (TouchWiz Oreo).
This ROM is exclusively for the S7 Edge Exynos variants. The developer claims that the ROM works flawlessly on most of the S7 Edge global variants. All the functions are working perfectly fine. Moreover, the ROM should also boot on the Galaxy S7 SM-G930F (Exynos variant). However, the only drawback is that the touchscreen won’t work.

Before you go ahead and install the Oreo ROM onto your S7 Edge device, here are some notes.
Notes
- This is a custom ROM to your device must be rooted with latest TWRP recovery.
- Also, make sure your device is running the stock Samsung firmware. TouchWiz or otherwise.
- The kernel is encrypted so you will need to flash the No-verity 6.0 zip after flashing the ROM.
- The ROM has been compiled by the system.zip provided by a user Kill-Switch.
- There are reports that Oreo changes data partition. So it is recommended to format the data before flashing this ROM.
- S7 Flat Sm-G930F users can use Vysor app to control the device.
Here are the installation steps:
Step 1: Make sure your Samsung device is rooted with latest TWRP recovery. See how to install TWRP on Android.
Step 2: Download all the files including Samsung Experience 9.0 for S7 Edge Oreo ROM, NoVerity-6.0 to your phone. Transfer all the files to device storage or SD Card.
Step 3: Reboot phone into TWRP recovery mode.
Step 4: Take a full Nandroid backup.
Step 5: It is recommended to wipe the data + wipe system, art, cache before flashing the Oreo ROM.
Step 6: Go to the home screen on TWRP and flash latest S7 Oreo ROM by tapping on Install option.
Step 7: Followed by flashing decryption zip called NoVerity-6.0 zip via TWRP.
Step 8: Reboot device into the system.
